# Batch Relay brand guidelines

These are the rules for referring to Batch Relay: how to write the name, which mark files to use, the color palette, the typeface, and what is and is not permitted. Company background lives on the [about page](https://batchrelay.com/about/); this document is guidelines only.

## Writing the name

Write the name as **Batch Relay**: two words, capital B, capital R, in headings and in running text.

Incorrect: BatchRelay, Batchrelay, batch relay, Batch relay, BATCH RELAY.

## Boilerplate

Batch Relay is print automation for high-volume sports photography studios.

## The mark

The mark ships in five colors. Use the one with the most contrast against its background; orange is the default. The marketing-site orange is never applied to a logo file.

Clear space around the mark is 20% of the mark's height on all four sides, equal to the width of its vertical stem. Minimum size is 16 px tall on screen and 6 mm tall in print. Scale proportionally.

## Lockups and wordmark

The stacked lockup, the vertical lockup, and the standalone wordmark are not distributable yet. Their source files still set the name as live text rather than outlined paths, so they render in a fallback font elsewhere. Use the mark until outlined masters are published.

Both oranges are current. `#FF7C21` is the logo and product-UI orange; `#FF6A00` is the marketing site accent. Do not substitute one for the other.

## Typography

General Sans, weight 700, letter spacing -0.035em. Used for the wordmark, lockups, and marketing headlines. General Sans is not distributed with the brand kit and there is no download link here; license it from its foundry if you need it.

## Usage

You may:

- Refer to Batch Relay in writing, talks, and articles.
- Link to batchrelay.com using the mark.
- Show that your product, lab, or service integrates with Batch Relay.

Do not:

- Alter the mark's shape, proportions, or rotation.
- Recolor the mark outside the brand palette.
- Add gradients, outlines, shadows, or other effects.
- Place the mark on busy photographs or low-contrast backgrounds.
- Use the mark as part of your own product name or logo.
- Imply that Batch Relay endorses or is affiliated with your product.

PNG heights are 256 px at @1x, 512 px at @2x, and 1024 px at @3x, on transparent backgrounds. Width follows the mark's aspect ratio.
