# Baseball Card Maker

Baseball Card Maker is a free tool on batchrelay.com that builds one standard trading card. Add a player photo, type the player's name, team, and jersey number, pick a position, choose one of four designs and a team color pair, and download a print-ready file. There is no account, no upload, and no watermark.

It builds one card at a time. Running the same design across a whole roster is what Batch Relay does for sports photographers; see "Cards for a whole team" below.

## What it produces

| Download | Format | Size |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Single card | JPEG, quality 92, JFIF density tagged 300 dpi | 2.75 × 3.75 in (825 × 1125 px): the 2.5 × 3.5 in trim plus a 1/8 in bleed on every side |
| 9-up print sheet | One-page PDF | US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), nine trimmed cards in a 3 × 3 grid with crop marks in the margin |

Names, numbers, and positions stay at least 1/8 in inside the trim. The on-screen card is shown at the trim line; the bleed only appears in the single-card file.

## Designs and options

- **Designs:** Classic (bordered, with a position badge), Full bleed (photo edge to edge with a large number), Banner (diagonal name banner), and Retro (vertical team name down the side).
- **Team colors:** eight primary and accent pairs.
- **Sports:** baseball, softball, football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Changing the sport changes the position list.
- **Text:** player name (24 characters), team (26 characters), jersey number (digits, up to 3). Type is shrunk in quarter points to fit its line rather than squashed or clipped. The sport's sample player is shown until any field is typed in; after that, an empty field is left off the card.

## Photo

One photo slot, which accepts JPEG, PNG, or WebP by click or drag-and-drop. iPhone HEIC files cannot be decoded by browsers; export as JPEG first. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom from 1.00× to 4.00×, or use the framing sliders. The tool reports the effective resolution of the current crop: 300 PPI or better is print-ready, 150–299 PPI downloads with a warning, and under 150 PPI blocks the download.

## Photos never leave the browser

The photo is read in the browser to draw the card and to build the download. It is never uploaded to Batch Relay or anywhere else. Design, colors, sport, and text are remembered in the browser's local storage; the photo is not.

## Cards for a whole team

Sports photographers who make cards for whole teams use the Batch Relay Template Engine to run one front-and-back card design across every player on a roster, with each player's name, number, and position filled in. Lab fulfillment for trading cards is not yet confirmed; see <https://batchrelay.com/prints/trading-cards/>. Start at <https://batchrelay.com/get-started/>.
